Clifton Reynes
River Great Ouse near Newport Pagnell.

Venue description: Approximately 1½ miles of single bank. The venue is heavily weeded in summer with water lilies, reed mace and rushes providing excellent cover for the fish. In the main the river is slow and deep.

Parking: Next to the river in the centre of the venue.

Species: Tench, bream, chub, perch, roach, dace, pike and the occasional barbel.

Night fishing is permitted.

Comment: Summer fishing can be difficult due to the heavy weed growth and gin clear water. Best fished at night or early morning and late evening. Plenty of bream and tench to six pounds with some twenty pound carp. The very large perch are best sought in the winter months. The odd barbel to 12lbs have been reported but these are few and far between.
